A sneak peek at Alber Elbaz's collection for Lancome

A sneak peek at Alber Elbaz's collection for Lancome

There are some beauty collaborations that we like to keep an eye on, and none so much as Alber Elbaz's collection for Lancôme.

WWD revealed a sneak preview of the fashion designers collection today. All about the eyes, the limited edition collection includes mascaras (of which Lancôme do the very best), eye palettes and false eyelashes.
"Eyes are the centre of Lancôme," Youcef Nabi, president of Lancôme International told WWD. And as Elbaz explained, his first make-up collection was always going to be for eyes: "Once I was in a fancy place where there was this group of people that were all shining. The shoes were shining, the hair was shining, the skin, watches and diamonds - but the eyes were not shining. I thought if I were to do a project I would love to do a 'happy eye' project to make the eyes shine."
The idea was to take Lancôme's best-selling mascara and rework it, "with a different perspective," Elbaz explains, who went on to add a little bit of his creative magic touch. "To go back to a fantasy, to back to a dream, to a happy ending. I think we always remember stories more than objects." The story all starting in the 90 second film he created as a teaser for the collection.
The collection goes on sale on June 15; keep your soon to be shiny eyes peeled.
